ARTIST BIO
Hannelore was born in Stuttgart,
Germany. In the early 70’s she was an artist member
of “Gruppe J’73” in Munich, exhibiting drawings, etchings and watercolors.
She came to the USA in 1978 and has lived in Tennessee, Texas and in California since.
In 1998, she earned her B.F.A. in Art Studio at the University of California in Davis
with highest honors. She earned her M.FA. in Studio Arts in fall of 2004 in the
Arts & Consciousness Department of Holistic Studies at John F. Kennedy University
in Berkeley, California. She is a Reiki master and an experienced color healer.
Hannelore’s artistic journey has culminated in her current abstract work in large formats
which is inspired by nature and human nature. She creates visionary luminous paintings
that reflect her interpretation of inner mystical experience and celebrate life.
Energy, flow and color are key components of her painterly work. Currently she exhibits
her art in the Greater Sacramento Area, in San Francisco and in the Bay Area.
She has also painted several murals – solo and in collaboration – in Vacaville,
Sacramento, Woodland, Oakland and Vallejo. Her 30 years of professional experience
in the graphic arts include illustration, design, print production and web design. Currently she is
directing a video production " WALKS IN NATURE" which documents her painting process.
In 2003, she authored Art & Soul Journeys, a series of ten workshops for creative exploration
and personal growth for established and emerging artists alike. In creating these workshops Hannelore
draws on her interest in world cultures, experiential teaching and over 15 years of meditation practice.
She has taught art part time out of her own studio in Oakland and in school settings since 1995.
